What you are able to do is set a RSS feed to import into tumblr (in your settings) and it will pull the last 10 or so posts into tumblr. I also quit them and went to work and subscribe with DISH Network instead. I'm very glad in my switch and haven't had any problems since I left Comcast behind. I do recommend people checking out this website www.besttvforme.com and see all the comparisons of all the TV providers out there! It's what led me to DISH Network and I couldn't be happier! :)

Re: Just made my first Ally eCheck deposit!

as a bank, Ally is unbelievable for 2011 -- they have great customer service, knowledgeable employees who can always help, 24/7. At first I was a little bewildered by needed to snail mail checks or money orders to open accounts or deposit, with the extra option of having a second account. I'm 26 and have never needed a second bank with accounts, although, with ally, and less fees, and a much greater level of explanation in any question I ask, I now have a small bank in ohio, and US Bank, which is nation wide as well as Ally. I, partially to more hours at work, and less being toyed around by a bank, have almost double what I had when I started ally last september, having taken off 3 months of work for an extended vacation, and my wisdom teeth being pulled, I feel more in control that ever -- saying that, even with these set backs, I'm still doing better saving, and it feels like a friend is there, just a call or email away.

Re: Just made my first Ally eCheck deposit!

We're very happy to see this, John, and glad that you like the new feature! I
used our network office scanning system which is setup for documents which
is the only reason I had to do a little fiddling. Otherwise, its very easy
as you mentioned.

Re: Just made my first Ally eCheck deposit!

I just did my first too! Sooo excited to finally have this feature. Two specific comments to your post: I didn't have to do anything to my scanner - everything worked with no fuss. Smooth as silk. And, I generally would agree that 10 minutes per check is too long, but I'll make that sacrifice if it means I skip the trip to the bank (AND skip the 2-3 day wait for electronic transfer). Even at 10 minutes for each check.

VERY happy with Ally!

Re: Google Calendar Quick add via email?

I wondered the exact same thing, and created http://www.myeventbot.com/ to do just that.
Last.fm is prettier, free, has a better music selection, allows "playlists", has a free desktop version… but is a bit complicated and clunky as an app.

I'm pretty happy with google
reader mostly due to the number of apps that sync with it. In fact, i almost
never read from the reader web site, I'm almost always using Reeder on the
iPhone or NetNewsWire on the Mac.

'sorting out' is still in the stage I'm in and I haven't even begun to
consider harmonizing all the sources of information i consume (ie, tags, and
info services). That actually seems to be one of my biggest hurdles, my Zeo
wont talk to my diet and exercise tracking (MyNetDiary) which doesn't talk
to my pedometer (FitBit) and on and on. In order for these services to
become more wildly used and useful they need to start implementing API's to
allow these services to talk with each other.

Let me know how sorting out your digital life goes.

Re: Reducing the content I consume for more simple living

I have have been playing with personal meta data for a while and just generally 'sorting out' and refining my digital life. I am a local here and what occurred to you was insane. I am glad Sego is trying to make things right. Frankly if a restaurant or anyone attempts to defend what you describe as "ok" is insane. I am glad the restaurant even acknowledges the issue. People get a grip. A restaurant should not take reservations if it can't offer great service. Period. Don't make excuses, make it better.

My beef was only that the food, or at least what I ordered, was just simply bad food, and poorly prepared.

The service was "ok" which is fine.

We ate there this past weekend. Still no alcohol served at all yet, but they charge $15 to uncork your bottle. They even have a wine steward that comes over to let you taste your own wine... But I could deal with that if the food was ok. I LOVE salt but there was way too much salt on the fries and even the ice berg salad. And although the hamburger in grill looked amazing, it was tasteless and undercooked. Over all I rate Segos in Ketchum Idaho a 2 out of 10. Stay away!

Re: Restaurant review – avoid SEGO in Ketchum ID like the plague!

Sorry but had the same bad experience

Also how is it allowed to bring your own wine in with out a beer and wine license , and then charge corkage fee . BOY it looks like he is making out real good . So the customer pays for the wine and then pays to have it open what does he pay for ? How about all the other restaurants in town paying for the license taxes and inventory . Maybe no one really needs a licence ?

Re: My favorite TED talk

If that was the case, eventually the only people alive would be those who
have no concern for the environment. They have a lot of problems that are starting to manifest from their one child policy. Now encouraging people to consider the ramifications and consequences of having children is a good thing. Just like conserving resources, we should think of the impact of our actions from our transportation, or energy usage, food consumption, and children. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Aperture on MacBook Air

Thanks, even though this is a older post it's still a relevant discussion.

One of things I was trying to do while traveling was go back and organize a lot of old projects (from before my Aperture days) that are just a mess. I didn't get to this on any of my prior trips, sadly. What I did when I didn't want my whole library was just to have the master library on my desktop and a library on my Air. While traveling I would would import photos (managed masters) into the library on the Air and then export the project(s) and re-import these project on the Desktop.

This sounds like what you have been doing if I'm not mistaken. Which seems to be the only way to move projects between computers.

It has been a wile since I had a small library size on my Mac Book Air so while I know the problem I'm running into, besides HD size which is fixable using your method, was the processor couldn't handle running the software very well. It would take multiple seconds (like 15-30) to change pictures (in the browser).

Have you found that when having a smaller library on your laptop (I don't know what laptop you have) improves Aperture performance as compared to a larger (HD size) library?

The wood river valley is a great place for photography. What type of work does your wife do?

Re: My favorite TED talk

That one seems outrageous when I say it to people, but not having one more
kid will save 1000x the emissions of driving a better vehicle, reusing bags,
and EVERY other green thing you can do in your lifetime to reduce your
impact.
