I know this is a really old thread now but it ranks in google so I thought I'd post a solution. You can accomplish this easily with If This, Then That (ifttt.com). You can make your own easily (Gmail label to quick add to Calendar) or you can use a pre-existing one here: https://ifttt.com/recipes/4...

That's a great workaround! Thanks for posting, I'll have to give it a try. There are a lot of step in the set up (each step has a potential fairlure capacity), but its mostly all google so I'll give it a try.

Using Google Voice, set up your email as a forward address. Sign up for the sms alerts with your Gvoice number and reply to that number from the forwarded email like you would the sms and it'll be posted to your calendar just as if you had sent an sms. (I tested this just now, and it worked.)

Thats a good thought. I've tried that however that is relying on twittermail and gcal being active. I had been using this process for a wile but twittermail and/or gcal would go down and I wouldn't know until it was too late.

Assuming these 2 service are working its a good solution, thanks for brining this up!

Only way I've found so far is:
Email -> twittermail -> direct message gcal -> google calendar
